Days out

  • Happy Mount Park, Morecambe

A fun day out for the family with attractions including a splash park for the kids, play parks for both older and younger children, a mini train ride round the park and many more including adventure golf. The park welcomes dogs on lead throughout the park, apart from the splash park, so bring along your furry friends!

  • Leighton Hall

Looking for a more historical trip out? Take a look around the Medieval estate of Leighton hall and explore its stunning gardens and dated decor. With guided tours inside the hall and acres of stunning gardens to explore. The estates caters for all the family and has open days and activities for the kids as well as welcoming dogs on the wider estate.

  • Greenlands Farm, Carnforth

Boasting a large collection of over 120 animals, Greenlands is a fun packed day out for the kids. As well as having a cosy cafe and farm shop for the family to wind down there are so many activities on offer including the splash pool and sand pit and build your own bear.

  • RSPB Leighton Moss, Silverdale

Tucked away in a large reedbed, you will find the the home of a huge range of wildlife including otters, all kinds of birds, egrets and red deer. With parking, a cafe, a shop and a huge choice of nature trails there isn’t much this place does not offer. Dogs are welcome on designated dog trails and you will also find pushchair trails and changing facilities.

  • Crook O Lune Circular

Discover the scenic Halton trail along the River Lune. Enjoy a picturesque walk to the Crook O Lune picnic site before following the Lune Valley Ramble. Cross the Thirlmere Aqueduct and return via the disused railway, old train station, and Halton Bridge. Beware of potential boggy ground and floodwater along the river bank section.

  • Clougha Pike

Discover the beauty of Lancaster, Lancashire, on this 8.5-km circular trail. With a moderate challenge, it usually takes around 3 hours to complete. Enjoy hiking, running, or walking on this popular route, where you can find moments of tranquility during quieter times. The trail is open year-round, offering stunning scenery no matter the season. Unfortunately this trail is no dogs allowed so you will need to leave the pups at home.

  • Williamsons Park

Welcome to Williamson Park, a haven of diverse attractions suitable for all ages! Wander through the vast 54-acre space and immerse yourself in its rich history, complete with a majestic memorial and enchanting butterfly gardens. Lose yourself in the serene woodlands and lakes as you follow the meandering paths and trails. This park offers an array of captivating points of interest that will keep you engaged throughout your visit. For families with children, it’s an absolute delight, promising a memorable experience for everyone!

  • Bolton le Sands / Carnforth Canal

Embark on a picturesque journey along the canal towpath, where you can take as much time as you need to revel in the boundless beauty of the surrounding views and sights. With dogs on leads warmly welcomed, this pleasant and flat walk provides a perfect outing for you and your furry companions. You have the flexibility to turn it into a circular route and venture into the charming Carnforth town, or even take a delightful trip on the coastal road. For a refreshing beach experience, let your four-legged friends roam freely and play in the sand.
